FROM WITHIN

“Craig” was diagnosed with cancer one year ago. He was responding to radiation treatment until two weeks ago, when he suffered a major stroke.    That stroke left him with

right sided paralysis and left sided weakness. His decline has been swift. He is so appropriately struggling with that rapid change.

The moment I met him, I felt a strong connection from within.  He had so much emotion in his face.  His sentences were short, but he so deeply expressed his words and beliefs.  I just let go as felt so drawn to him. I allowed my words to come; which I so deeply believe were from above.

Toward the end of the visit, Craig’s sarcastic humor came alive.  He had me laughing and teasing him right back.  I have this strong spiritual feeling that I may meet him again on the other side.  I sure hope so.

FROM WITHIN

He was diagnosed one year ago.

The cancer has now spread near his heart;

resulting in, per his wife, “A shower of strokes”.

He is so weak, he can no longer ambulate.

The nurse and I walked into the family room;

where he was sitting in his comfy recliner.

They put two kitchen chairs across from him

 for the two of us to sit close by.

When I asked him, “How are you doing?”,

he cried and then said, “I am the useless one”.

His facial expression drew me close to him.

While massaging his shoulder, I said,

“Your diagnosis is not who you are.

Your family deeply loves you, just being you”.

then softly spoke about his Christian beliefs

while sharing my out-of-body experience.

I also expressed what I learned from a seven-year-old;

that we all will hear “Well done”.

His face expressed absolute peace.

He deeply understood and believed what I said.

Due to his strokes, his sentences were short,

but he so beautifully voiced from his soul.

My words, my advice, my direction

were coming gracefully from my heart.

He and I beautifully connected at that moment.

We both let go and allowed to be guided

                    From Within.

A PERFECT DAY

I met Jenelle over thirty years ago and we immediately hit it off.  It was a very special moment as it does not happen that way frequently.  We so understand each other and amazingly think the same about life and beliefs.  I so cherish our time together as it is a special gift that naturally flows between us.   Another beautiful moment embracing the blessing of self-care.

A PERFECT DAY

We met over thirty years ago.

She interviewed for a Social Work position

at the hospital where I worked.

I still remember what she wore.

We immediately connected

even though I am a generation older.

It wasn’t long before we both knew;

                    “We are soul mates.

We are also kindred spirits, so not surprisingly

our social work styles are so similar;

even though she loved neonatal;

while I encircled the Emergency Room.

Twenty years ago, I moved two hours North

so now we meet in a town halfway between us.

Every six months, we meet up and have lunch.

What is so wonderful is that we pick right up

like we saw each other just yesterday.

I got there a few minutes before her today.

The moment I saw her walking toward the restaurant,

my heart and spirit immediately lit up.

I was embraced by her pure unconditional love.

Our three hours together flew by so quickly.

We both could have sat there so much longer.

Even though it was only a few afternoon hours,

it made today

                    A perfect day!
